The Council approved the provision of the necessary funds to contract with a number of companies to implement the work of the plan to provide sustainable green transport services to the members of the delegations participating in the COP27 Climate Summit, which will be hosted by Sharm El-Sheikh next November. The work required includes the implementation of charging and maintenance stations for electric buses for 180 electric buses in the Nabq and Ruwaisat areas, in addition to the work of operating the system for 300 buses powered by electricity and gas (180 electric and 120 gas). The government announced last year that it intends to convert all cars and buses in Sharm El Sheikh and Hurghada to run on natural gas or replace them with electric vehicles in conjunction with the launch of the COP27 summit.
